The Swedish Network for European Studies in Political Science (SNES) aims to promote research in Political Science, focused on questions pertaining to Europe at Swedish universities, and to facilitate exchanges among researchers and doctoral students active in this field. The overarching objectives of the network are to establish favourable conditions for research and doctoral studies in Political Science-oriented research on European questions and to disseminate the  results of such research to a broader audience. 

SNES consists of eleven member departments at Uppsala University, Malmö University, Lund University, Linnaeus University, Karlstad University, Umeå University, Linköping University, Dalarna University, Stockholm University, University of Gothenburg and Södertörn University.

SNES is one of three academic networks comprised in the Swedish government’s 1997 effort to promote research on Europe.

  • Apply for funding to visit other research environments or organise network activities. Yearly deadlines: 15 February and 15 September.
  • SNES Spring Conference 2018 is co-organized with Gothenburg University and is held 19-20 April. Deadline for abstract submission 15 December 2017. Send abstracts to: snes2018@pol.gu.se

New Yearbook

The new yearbook for European studies, Europaperspektiv 2018, on the EU in a changing world order will be presented by the authors Febuary 7, 2018, at City Conference Center in Stockholm.

 

Swedish universities co-operate since 1998 within a national network structure for European studies, comprising of networks for political science, economics and law. The networks are together responsible for the annual yearbook for European studies - Europaperspektiv.
